The Goldendale City Council adopted Ordinance 15-51 to implement the 0.01% public-safety sales tax the voters approved on Nov. 4, 2025, and authorized collection under Goldendale Municipal Code chapter 3.29.
Mayor told the council the measure had been placed on the ballot by Resolution 747 and certified by the county auditor. A council member moved to adopt the ordinance and waive a second reading; the motion was seconded and carried on an affirmative council vote.
No changes to the ordinance language were made at the meeting. Council did not raise additional implementation questions at the meeting; city attorney and staff will proceed with ordinance publication and implementation steps required to begin collection.
Next steps: staff will finalize any administrative tasks required to begin collecting the tax according to state and county procedures.
