Reno County approves 2026 funding agreements for aging services

Reno County commissioners approved the Department of Aging’s 2026 agency funding agreements, authorizing budgeted contract payments to local providers that deliver meals, transportation and other services to residents age 60 and older.
Candice Bonnison, director of the Department of Aging and Public Transportation, told the commission these agreements are part of the county’s contractual line for the approved 2026 budget and cover organizations that provide services the department does not deliver directly, such as home repairs, meals-on-wheels and volunteer‑center programming.
Commissioners asked about volunteer‑center activity and Medicare Part D assistance; Bonnison said volunteers already assist with Medicare enrollment and agencies report activity monthly and quarterly. Commissioners moved and voted to approve the set of 2026 funding agreements as presented.
The agreements are budgeted in the Department of Aging’s contractual line for fiscal 2026 and require periodic reporting from recipient agencies to the county.
