Story County honors dispatcher Marcy Hunter Montgomery for 28 years of service

At its Nov. 25 meeting, the Story County Board of Supervisors honored Marcy Hunter Montgomery for 28 years of service with the Story County Sheriff's Office dispatch center.
Sheriff Fitzgerald addressed the board and attendees, thanking Montgomery for her long tenure. "Marcy has been around quite a while. Marcy began in this building when the dispatch center was here and then, stayed in that role all these years till now, at the new facility," Fitzgerald said, praising her steady work in emergency dispatch.
Supervisors and other attendees thanked Montgomery for providing calm, reassuring service to residents during emergencies and presented her with a plaque. Montgomery and colleagues exchanged brief remarks and photographs, and the board offered best wishes for her retirement.
The recognition was a ceremonial item on the agenda; no board action beyond the presentation was required.
