Tunkhannock Area School District elects Holly Arnold president, Andrew Franco vice president

The Tunkhannock Area School District Board of School Directors elected Holly Arnold as board president and Andrew Franco as vice president during its reorganization meeting, the board confirmed.

Arnold won the presidency after the nominations committee presented her name; members then closed nominations and approved her by roll-call vote. The board also nominated and approved Andrew Franco as vice president. Earlier in the meeting, the board appointed Bill Skoll to serve briefly as temporary president while the nominations were handled.

The newly elected president said she is honored by the vote and praised the board—s professional focus on students and compliance. "I serve on this board with like-minded, even when we disagree, like-minded professionals . . . following the law and compliance and just doing the right thing," Arnold said after her election. She asked members to raise any committee assignment concerns before the January meeting and said the published 2026 meeting dates will stand unless changes are requested.

The reorganization also included routine housekeeping: the board confirmed its committee appointment list for 2026 and agreed to publish the scheduled meeting dates. President Arnold said the board will keep committee loads balanced and invited members to request changes privately ahead of the January meeting.

The board closed the reorganization meeting and immediately convened the regular meeting. The board will meet again in January to finalize committee rosters and continue regular business.
