Committee approves minutes and authorizes letter inviting National Guard band

The November minutes were also approved after members confirmed prior comments were incorporated.
Letter to Massachusetts Army National Guard band: Jamie Falcone, the committee’s veterans representative (identified in the meeting packet), had drafted a letter requesting that the Massachusetts Army National Guard band perform in the tricentennial parade scheduled for Oct. 10, 2027. Vanessa offered to format the letter on tricentennial letterhead and, after a motion and second, the committee voted unanimously to approve sending the letter. The vote to approve the letter was recorded as unanimous.
Next steps and procedure: Vanessa will format and send the letter under Jamie’s signature, and staff will track responses from the band. Committee members noted the band may require 12–15 months’ notice and that costs could be several thousand dollars; the committee discussed identifying sponsors to underwrite any fee.
