At their Dec. 18 meeting, the Cumberland County commissioners approved several routine contracts and administrative actions that county staff said were necessary for operations and fund management.
Ron Snow asked the board to uncommit $2,765,789.04 in county grant program funds that grantees had not drawn down; staff proposed moving that balance to the county's assigned fund balance for fund-balance management, and the board approved the action by voice vote.
Kirk Sohner described a change order to add guide-rail repair for the Bergner Bridge to the county bridge maintenance contract; the change order cost was stated as $10,165.88 and was approved.
Brent Durham presented a three-year equipment service agreement with Kent Corporation to perform annual inspection, sealing and tagging of county fire extinguishers as required by NFPA 10; the contract was described as $17,296.20 in one statement and $17,002.96 in another in the same discussion. The board approved the contract.
Bob Shively presented two contracts to upgrade the computer-aided dispatch VMware virtual-server management platform: an implementation contract with Hexagon and a licensing purchase from IntegraOne. Shively and the chair clarified the correct vendor/amount pairing during discussion before the board approved both contracts.
Tammy Shearer described continuing the county's optical storage/land-records software (in use since 2007). She said the invoice appeared slightly higher this year (roughly $1,000'$2,000) because a records-notification system had been prorated previously and is now billed for a full year. The board approved the renewal.
All routine items and contracts were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Next steps: Procurement and contract managers will finalize change orders and execute vendor agreements.
