Adams County commissioners approve routine claims, payroll and multiple fund transfers

Payroll-related items included approval of payroll AP claims of $347,008.17 and payroll time-card approvals for appointed department heads. The board also approved weekly Allied medical claims and stop-loss reimbursements totaling $45,008.97.
On budget adjustments, the commissioners approved a $5,000 transfer from legal fees to bond interest to cover a shortfall and a $9,000 transfer from legal fees to the unincorporated infrastructure fund to pay for an unsafe-building demolition. Tony (department staff) explained both transfers as measures to ensure appropriate coverage of bond interest and infrastructure costs.
The board signed a matching-agreement authorization for an unspecified state match (described in the meeting as increasing a county contribution) and noted staff reports that employee participation in that program rose from about 73–74% to roughly 85%.
Permits from Indiana Michigan Power for pole work on County Road 150 West and County Road 700 North were approved. Commissioners also approved several replats and lot-line consolidations, and took a procedural vote to adopt ordinance 2025-20 to record and transfer a previously vacated alley in Pleasant Mills to the adjacent owner.
The meeting concluded with routine announcements — staff noted Dec. 5 as the final date to request opioid funds and reminded commissioners about an upcoming ICC convention and travel procedures. There were no public comments.
