Hamilton Township adopts Warren County five-year hazard mitigation plan after county presentation

Sydney Renner of the Warren County Emergency Management Agency presented the 2025 Warren County hazard mitigation plan update and told trustees the document is federally required and must be updated every five years. "It is a federally required plan, and it requires us to go through an update every 5 years," Renner said, and she added that adopting the plan "does open you up and make you eligible for certain types of funding ... including disaster relief assistance as well as mitigation grants."
Trustees praised the plan’s scope and the participatory process; attendees noted that police, fire and public works personnel contributed via surveys and open houses. Trustees asked whether recent local flooding had been addressed and were told county staff had worked directly with affected businesses to resolve needs.
Later in the meeting a trustee moved to adopt resolution 25-0820C, described as "a resolution adopting the Warren County multi‑jurisdictional hazard mitigation 5 year plan update." The motion was seconded and trustees present voted to approve the resolution, completing the board’s formal adoption of the county plan. The board’s adoption means the township will be eligible to apply for disaster-relief assistance and certain mitigation grants when those programs are available.
The presentation and the later adoption were linked in the meeting: Renner asked jurisdictions to adopt the plan and trustees completed that step through the resolution vote.
