Trustees increase appropriations and approve vehicle and equipment purchases including three police PPVs

Hamilton Township trustees approved a package of housekeeping appropriations and equipment purchases at the meeting.

Staff said a proposed resolution would increase appropriations to cover necessary repairs and maintenance for large fire and EMS vehicles (approximately $10,000 noted), to accommodate public works replacement facility planning and to replace three police vehicles on a one‑for‑one basis. The board adopted Resolution No. 25‑0806D to increase appropriations in relevant funds and Resolution No. 25‑0806E authorizing the private sale of unneeded police property.

The board also approved the purchase of a mobile fire training door, locks and accessories from Forest Fire and Company for $13,615 to support forcible‑entry training. Fire staff said past shared doors lasted roughly 20 years and the township will house a door at Station 76 and use it at the training tower or transport it as needed.

Trustees approved the purchase of three Chevrolet Tahoe 4x4 PPVs through an Ohio public bid program (Timolelli Chevrolet) in the total amount of $1,155,559, along with emergency lighting systems ($56,880), uplifts from CDW ($18,954), radars from Stalker ($9,030), vivid wraps ($13,200) and firearms/equipment ($3,175.68). Staff said two existing Tahoes are at a dealer awaiting engine work under warranty and that the township plans to sell older vehicles on the public bidding process when replacements arrive.

All motions were seconded and passed by recorded votes of the trustees present.
