Little Miami board and community honor longtime member Bobbie Grice; Homegrown Alliance announces scholarship

The Little Miami School Board and community honored longtime board member Bobbie Grice on Dec. 16, recognizing 28 years of service to the district and calling out her work supporting teachers, students and community programs.

Speakers at the meeting praised Grice’s decades of work in education and community service. A board presenter thanked her for ‘‘steady voice, thoughtful perspective and a genuine commitment to serving others,’’ and invited her to accept the board’s thanks.

During the public-comment period, a representative of Homegrown Alliance announced an endowed scholarship in Grice’s name. The organization said the Bobbie Grice Career Education Scholarship will begin with the class of 2026 and will support students who attend the Warren County Career Center as they continue into college.

At least two speakers from the community and one family member also spoke about Grice’s legacy. Grice’s daughter, who identified herself as Megan, described her mother’s 36-year career in education before board service and urged the new board to continue putting students first.

The recognition was presented ahead of routine business, with several board members and public speakers asking the community to carry forward a focus on student success.

The board then moved on to other agenda items, including routine approvals and a vote to enter executive session later in the meeting.
