Council posts leaf pickup dates, addresses non‑filer letters and budget timing

The city agreed to publish a calendar flash and noted normal collection procedures remain available for residents with smaller amounts.
Tax non‑filer letters: Finance Director Sheba Stevens Knotts told residents that non‑filer letters had gone out and explained the city’s process: the tax office worked with a collection/subpoena service (referred to in conversation as ‘Bridal’ in the meeting record) to cross-check federal filings, which can identify residents who filed federally but did not file a city tax return. Stevens Knotts urged residents to call the city tax office and supply documentation if they believe the notice is in error.
2026 budget timing: Residents asked when public discussion of the 2026 budget will take place. The finance director said about 95% of budget material had been presented earlier (August/September) and that the budget is an ongoing deliberative process. Council members said a special Budget & Finance Committee meeting focusing on the 2026 budget will be scheduled and posted on the committee agenda.
Street repairs and ODOT: Residents asked about potholes and a private street; council and staff said planned street work is evaluated by the public-safety/public-works process and that ODOT is responsible for certain state routes and structures; councilmember Mister Wilson said he has been speaking with ODOT district staff and city staff will coordinate inspections.
The meeting concluded with council thanking Clover Nook Center for the Blind for hosting and reminding residents to vote.
