Taft recounted recent incidents he said went unresolved: tires burning on a Sunday morning and dead chickens scattered along Highway 117. He described difficulty getting rapid help, said the county’s responses sometimes seemed understaffed, and asked commissioners to ‘‘be among the people’’ and engage more directly with constituent concerns.
Commissioners acknowledged Taft’s remarks and thanked him for raising district-level concerns; they encouraged residents to follow up with staff so the county can investigate specific incidents.
