Wayne County approves consent agenda including appointments and multiple budget amendments

Wayne County commissioners unanimously approved the consent agenda on Dec. 2, which included personnel and appointment items and several budget amendments across county departments.
The appointment committee’s recommendations to reappoint Robert Dingus and to appoint Megan Hare to the Goldsboro Wayne Transportation Authority advisory board were approved without recorded opposition. The consent agenda included multiple budget amendments presented earlier by staff: reappropriation of sheriff’s office insurance proceeds for a wrecked/seized vehicle (the insurance payout totaled $26,000, with $14,000 reappropriated), rural operating assistance (pass-through) funds for Gateway Transit (GWTA), library donations and state aid, Cooperative Extension donations for Save the Farm programming and Christmas on the Farm, and health department addenda to increase funds for Healthy Beginnings incentives and BCCCP screening services.
The county recorded these items as part of the consent action; staff will implement the appropriations through the finance office.
