The board approved a six-month UGI natural gas purchasing contract, advanced procurement of the Infinite Campus student-information system, authorized establishing a $350,000 line of credit and amended vehicle purchases to a not-to-exceed cap of $135,000; the amendment passed with one recorded ‘No.’
The Wyoming Area School Board on Dec. 16 approved several finance and procurement items, including a six-month extension with UGI Energy Services LLC to secure natural gas pricing beginning Jan. 1, 2026, advanced purchase and implementation of the Infinite Campus student information system, and a plan to establish a line of credit not to exceed $350,000.
During the board’s finance report, the district’s finance chair reported revenue and receipts for the period and presented a series of recommended payments and contracts, including ratified payments to LIU for special education services and an invoice payment to Penone Associates for IAQ work in the intermediate center. The administration told the board the short UGI extension reflects higher market pricing: the district reported it had previously paid about $3.89 per unit and has extended for six months at approximately $4.75.
Board president moved to amend finance item 8, specifying purchases of a 2025 Chevy 3,500 dump truck and a 2025 Ford 12-passenger all-wheel-drive van with a not-to-exceed total cap of $135,000; the motion was seconded and passed on roll call with one recorded dissent. The amendment preserves final approval by the superintendent, business manager and solicitor and authorizes execution of required documentation subject to those approvals.
The board also approved moving forward with Infinite Campus to replace several existing systems. Superintendent Pollard characterized the change as a consolidation: “So when you get an all call and a text message, that's 1 system … Those 2 services would go away because they're all in … all included in what the Infinite Campus does,” and added that the new system would provide a parent/student app for grades, attendance and notifications.
The board approved notification of the district’s reservation of rights to withdraw from the Northeast Pennsylvania School District Health Trust in accordance with the trust agreement and approved a number of routine ledger, settlement and vendor payments.
What’s next: the vehicle purchases and Infinite Campus implementation are subject to final approval and required signatures from the superintendent, business manager and solicitor; the UGI extension covers the first half of 2026.
