JCI Lake Elmo to close chapter, presents $3,800 final donation to city

Stacy, president of JCI Lake Elmo, and Emily Carlson, the group’s family manager, told the Lake Elmo City Council on Dec. 16 that the local JCI chapter will close at the end of the calendar year and presented a final donation to the city.
“I'm Stacy from the Lake Elmo ... JCI Lake Elmo. I'm the president this year,” Stacy said, introducing the group. Carlson told the council, “we are closing our doors as of the end of this calendar year,” and said the chapter wanted to make its final annual donation to the city. The group presented a check for $3,800.
Carlson said the chapter has kept money raised through a gambling operation at Twin Point Tavern in the local area and has supported community groups for decades. Staff and council members thanked the chapter for more than 50 years of local giving and posed for a photo with a ceremonial check.
No council action was required beyond accepting the donation; the amount will be processed through the city’s usual acceptance procedures. The council acknowledged the chapter’s local philanthropy and noted the donation will go to city coffers for allocation through the budget process.
