Fair Oaks Ranch council approved hiring a consultant to develop the city's strategic action plan and accepted a $2,000 donation for the police department at its Dec. 4 meeting.

Unidentified Speaker said the consultant was specifically identified during the meeting and that the work will complete the final planning phase used to determine projects for the five-year budget and the following year's annual budget. The council voted to approve hiring the consultant.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lallotta attended and provided a $2,000 donation to the police department; the council voted to accept the donation.

Announcements at the meeting included the next council meeting scheduled for Jan. 15 and a notice that some meetings were canceled for the holidays. Unidentified Speaker also said County Bullis (transcript: "Count Bullis") will conduct prescribed burns from Dec. 8 through Dec. 19 between roughly 10:10 a.m. and 6 p.m. and cautioned residents that visible smoke during those days may be related to the burns.

The council described the consultant hire as the last planning phase before finalizing five-year priorities and the annual budget. The transcript did not include contract value for the consultant or vote tallies for these actions.
