During its Dec. 15 meeting the Sedalia City Council handled a series of routine and procurement votes.
Minutes and commissions: Council approved the prior council meeting minutes and accepted Citizens Traffic Advisory Commission minutes by motion and voice vote.
Police records: The council approved a police department request to destroy 2017 case offense records that met retention periods and had been reviewed by the department's records supervisor under the Missouri municipal government records manual.
Traffic ordinance: The council called for the reading of Bill 2025-380, an ordinance to create a three-way stop at West 2nd Street and South Missouri Avenue, but no council member moved or seconded the ordinance and the measure died for lack of action.
Utility chemical contracts: The Utilities Department presented publicly advertised bids for one-year contracts for chemicals used in drinking-water treatment. Bill 2025-381 (hydrofluorosilicic acid) and Bill 2025-382 (sodium hypochlorite and ammonium hydroxide) were moved, seconded and passed following roll-call votes. The meeting record shows affirmative roll-call responses from council members during both votes.
Liquor-license renewals: Council approved three renewal licenses in a block: (1) Mandeep Carr d/b/a (address listed in meeting), (2) Adam McMillan d/b/a Walmart store #219 (3201 W. Broadway), and (3) Kathy Gantz d/b/a Break Time #3079 (2801 W. Broadway).
Closed-session motion: Later in the meeting a motion to move to closed session under RSMo §610.021 (subsections cited for legal advice, real estate, personnel and negotiated contracts) carried on a roll call.
The council recorded approvals and roll calls in the public record; no further substantive debate on the listed votes was noted in the meeting transcript.
