An initial insurer renewal quote equating to roughly a 14% increase—about $100,000 annually—was negotiated down; Baker told the council the net cost increase for the town and employees combined would be approximately $25,000 for the year and that the life rate is locked for two years.
Council members asked for clarifications on which increases affected monthly employer costs and how the HRA and employee contributions would continue to function. The package was approved by motion and voice vote; council members indicated they plan to finalize any outstanding billing or enrollment details before implementation.
The council said it will vote on any remaining administrative or procedural questions at the next meeting if needed.
