Miss Saline 2025 and student representatives highlight scholarships, community service and events

At the Oct. 14 Saline Area Schools board meeting, student representatives from the Miss Saline program presented a student showcase describing the pageant’s scholarship focus, community-service activities and upcoming events.
Madeline Marshall, introduced as Miss Saline 2025, explained the application process (transcripts, letters of recommendation, essays), the interview component and the program’s community-service emphasis. Marshall described community projects such as 'Stuff the Bus' and said Miss Saline roles involve appearances at parades, fairs and school events.
Jillian Hayes, student board representative and Miss Saline second runner-up, noted scholarship recipients and awards, including the academic award to Addison Langa and the White family scholarship to Jillian Hayes. Students discussed balancing academics and extracurricular activities; they emphasized that school work should remain the primary focus and said teammates can cover for one another when tests conflict with appearances.
Board members thanked the students for attending and recognized the role that volunteers and local sponsors play in supporting the program. The presentation included a call for community invitations to Miss Saline appearances and reminders about upcoming events such as the trunk-or-treat, the tree-lighting and the district’s 50th annual parade.
