At its Dec. 16 meeting the Town of Irmo council completed a series of votes and appointments spanning governance, personnel and budget matters.
Ordinances and readings: Council completed the second reading of Ordinance 25-15 to add confidentiality clauses to chapter 2 of the municipal code (prohibiting disclosure of confidential information discussed in executive session) and approved it on roll call. First readings were approved for Ordinance 26-01 (purchasing and procurement procedures) and Ordinance 26-03 (annexation of 2.34 acres at 10005 Broad River Road, CG zoning).
Appointments and contracts: Dr. Barb Waldman was elected mayor pro tem; Lisa Hancock was confirmed as municipal clerk; Will Edwards was appointed town attorney; Jake Moore Sr. and Jake Moore Jr. were appointed special projects and criminal prosecution attorneys respectively. The council approved a contract for the town administrator and a municipal court judge contract for Becky Adams (with her start date later in 2026).
