At its Dec. 8 meeting the Natomas Charter board reported appointments and completed several governance actions.
The board reported it had named Jennifer Morgan, Justin Garrett, Arsenio Mataka and Doug Gaffney to serve on the executive director/superintendent evaluation and employment committee; the selection was moved and seconded in open session. Chair Maria Medherado announced the appointments when the meeting reconvened from closed session.
The board then considered consent and action items. It formally approved a revised governance handbook (the principal change was a job‑title adjustment to reflect "executive director / superintendent") by roll call. The board also completed second readings and adopted three policies: campus security (VP 3515), which clarifies use of the term "site principal" and restricts public access to video‑surveillance review; student wellness (VP 5030), which added language about adopting goals; and an immigration‑enforcement policy (BP 5145.3) revised after attorney input to clarify the district would not use a federal locator tool but could provide families with information if appropriate.
All policy adoptions were adopted by roll‑call vote with members recorded as voting yes.
