Medical Lake council adopts 2026 final budget, approves budget amendment and claims/warrants

The Medical Lake City Council voted to adopt the citys 2026 final budget and to approve a related budget amendment during its Dec. 16 meeting.
City Attorney read Ordinance No. 1138 into the record as "An ordinance of the City of Medical Lake, Washington, adopting a budget for the period 01/01/2026 through 12/31/2026, appropriating funds and establishing salary schedules for established positions." Following a motion and second, the council voted to approve the ordinance; the mayor announced, "We have just passed the 2026 final budget."
Council also considered and unanimously approved Ordinance No. 1139, described by the city attorney as an amendment to Ordinance 1132 and providing for the effective date of the amended budget documents.
On routine finance items, council approved payroll and payable warrants as recorded on the agenda: payroll warrants (numbers listed in the record) totaling $171,197.06 and claim warrants totaling $324,891.01. A motion to approve claims and warrants was moved and seconded and carried unanimously.
