Corsicana High FFA students present program achievements and invite community to events

Corsicana High School FFA students addressed the Corsicana ISD Board to describe the program's history, academics-to-career activities and recent competitive successes, including multiple national qualifiers and two students who finished among the top three at nationals.
Joanna Martinez and three fellow Corsicana High School FFA students spoke to the Corsicana ISD Board at the November 2025 meeting to highlight the organization's role in student leadership, career preparation and community service.
"We are so excited to tell you all about the FFA and what truly makes us different from other programs at the high school," Martinez said. The students traced the organization's history, explained the FFA motto and described classroom and out‑of‑class experiences such as science fair, public speaking, supervised agriculture experiences (SAEs) and leadership development events that lead to career skills.
Presenters said the chapter has produced multiple state‑ and national‑level competitors: "We have had 7 students in the last 8 years advance to national level in science fair," the students told the board, and they identified Sara Ben and Molly Gomez as recent national top‑three finishers. They also described local service projects — food drives, a county "day of 30" exhibition involving students with special needs, and participation in Fort Worth FFA activities — and encouraged trustees and community members to attend a family night at the middle school.
The presentation emphasized how FFA complements other high‑school activities and career and technical education: students may take welding college credit, assist at local veterinary clinics or develop small businesses as part of SAEs. The students said the program aims to promote "premier leadership, personal growth, and career success" through practical experiences.
Board members thanked the students for their presentation and applauded the chapter's community service and competitive record. The district did not take formal action on the presentation beyond acknowledging the remarks.
