Staff said the department tracks 33 permit types; plumbing permits had a median days‑to‑issue of one day while sign permits typically took about 7–10 days when additional information was required.
Staff explained that permit and process volumes vary seasonally, with the most applications occurring May through October, and that the BS&A system transition has affected historical reporting (some legacy permit types remain in the data export). The permit map highlights concentrated activity in areas such as Pike River Crossing where multi‑unit development generates multiple trade permits per unit.
George, Parks & Recreation staff, reported program growth in 2025: increased participation in playgrounds, softball and tee‑ball, expanded use of Campus Park and Stuart McBride fields, new reservation options for splash pad use, and several special events including movies in the park and Arbor Day plantings. Parks staff completed a tree inventory (about 6,200 trees) and are finalizing a 70‑page management plan with Walkdale Tree Service and working with Public Works and Planning on implementation and budgeting.
Commissioners commended Parks & Rec and discussed youth sports costs; George noted program fees (playball programs between $60–$75 before discounts) and grants/partnerships that help subsidize programming. The commission closed by welcoming a new member and adjourning.
