The Mounds View School Board on Dec. 9 adopted a resolution certifying the district's final 2026 property tax levy at $72,955,573.06, Finance Director Paula Steele said, and the certification will be forwarded to Ramsey County to prepare final tax statements.
The final levy "is $72,955,573.06," Paula Steele said during the board meeting, and the administration recommended the board approve the attached resolution to set the levy for taxes payable in 2026. Steele told the board the recommended amount reflects a $10,000,000 increase from a voter-approved capital project levy passed in November and a $1,400,000 decrease in long-term facilities maintenance (LTFM) debt-service costs.
The board moved and seconded the resolution and the chair called the question; the chair announced the motion carries. Steele said the revenue collected in 2026 will fund the district's operating plan for the 2026-27 school year and that the successful truth-in-taxation process had included a hearing held Dec. 9 at 6 p.m.
Ramsey County will process and mail final property tax statements in March 2026 after receiving the district's certification, Steele said. The board did not attach additional conditions to the certification during the meeting.
Next steps: the district will forward the certified levy to Ramsey County and proceed with normal budget and legislative-year preparations ahead of the 2026-27 school year.
