Geneva, Ill. — The Geneva Historic Preservation Commission approved a building permit revision for 521 South State Street during its Dec. 16 meeting.
Preservation planner Emily Stood presented the case and showed the commission images of the previously approved addition. Contractor John Ray said the application would reuse a window that was ordered earlier but became surplus after prior work, and that the new window «matches everything that's on the addition now» and complements existing fenestration.
Commission discussion was brief. No commissioners raised objections and one commissioner moved to approve the permit "as applied for"; the motion was seconded and the commission called the roll before announcing the motion passed.
The approved change permits the additional side-elevation window to be installed as described in the application. The commission recorded the administrative action in the public record and thanked the applicant for attending.
