Andrea said her family has historic ties in the canal area and she hopes to help bridge tribal and county preservation efforts; commissioners discussed a totem her grandfather (identified in the conversation as Henry Allen) had created and expressed interest in documenting that history.
The board agreed to set up additional interviews and noted there are multiple vacancies on the Historic Preservation Commission; staff will contact applicants with next steps.
