Several residents told the Grandview Heights City Council on Dec. 1 that notices to remove longstanding plantings along tree lawns have been confusing and unevenly applied, and they asked the city to revise its code and enforcement approach.
At the public-comment portion of the meeting, Mimi McKenzie of 1125 Westwood Avenue said the ordinance update in 2024 has left neighbors unclear about what is allowed and that some residents are receiving notices on a selective basis. "It seems that this ordinance around yard care appears to be extremely confusing," McKenzie said, adding that communication about the update has been inconsistent.
