Louisa County school construction updates: middle school near completion; CTE building progressing

A facilities presenter described recent exterior and site work at the middle school, including road resurfacing and a new bus drop-off lane to serve special-education classrooms on the addition's lower level. The presenter said the auxiliary gym had been essentially doubled and praised the finished spaces.
A project finance representative said there were no change orders for the middle school and reported $21,990,355.50 spent to date, representing 84.59% of the budget, and that the project is 93.43% complete. "So we are, under budget, and we are set to open up after the first," the finance representative said.
On the CTE facility, the facilities presenter said CMU/block work has advanced substantially and one slab remains to be poured because of pending electrical and fire-pump connections. The presenter said work would reach the roof in March. The finance report for the CTE project listed expenditures of $7,462,921.51, representing 18.99% of its budget, with 25.77% of the project complete. The board recorded a no-cost change order to upgrade the CTE chiller.
Board members responded positively and asked no follow-up technical questions during the meeting; presenters noted a small punch list remains on installations and that final steps would proceed over the next weeks.
