The Crook County Board of Commissioners approved several local appointments and reappointments Dec. 17.

Terry Flores, secretary to the Holland Special Road District, presented background on the district and recommended the sole applicant be appointed. Commissioner (Speaker 4) moved to appoint Tanya Doherty to position number 2 on the Halen/Holland Special Road District (Order 2025-41); the board seconded the motion and approved the appointment.

County Manager Will Van Vachter presented a recommendation to reappoint Steve Brown to the budget committee for a three-year term; the board moved to approve Order 2025-39 and voted to reappoint Brown.

In his manager's report, Van Vachter also notified the board that he appointed Steve Forrester to the finance committee as required by county fiscal policy; that appointment was informational and no vote was required.

The board recorded the motions and approved the appointments by voice votes during the meeting.
