Board recognizes students and student-athletes across district
Summary
The board recognized students from MTES, Ridgeway, Whiting, the middle school and high school for academic, artistic and athletic achievements, and noted selections to the NJMEA All-State Treble Chorus.
Board speakers recognized multiple students and student-athletes from across the district. Honors included fourth-grade students Nathan McViggy and Liam Jacob of MTES; Ridgeway student Kira Coxhawk for academic and gifted-and-talented accomplishments; Whiting student Hudson for kindness; Regional Day School student Martin for leadership; middle-school leaders Cole Greco and Audrey Stapp for athletic leadership; two students selected to the NJMEA All-State Treble Chorus; and high-school athletes Jacob (bowling averages listed) and Ayanna (four-year varsity wrestler and team captain).
Speakers praised students’ character, leadership and academic effort and invited families and honorees to join the board for photos. The recognitions were followed by a brief transition to grant announcements and board business.
