Douglas County approves SS&C MOU for Bert Nash accounting support, clears routine consent items

The Douglas County Commission approved routine business Dec. 3, including acceptance of the 2024 single audit and a memorandum of understanding to provide financial and operational support to Bert Nash.
The consent agenda—which included eight items—passed unanimously. Commissioners then approved the county’s acceptance of the 2024 single audit report, a federal compliance audit of federal awards, after staff clarified it reflected a repeat finding related to federal grant compliance.
Later in the meeting, and separate from the TRC supplemental funding discussion, the commission approved a memorandum of understanding authorizing up to $150,000 for SS&C (or similar vendor) to provide financial reporting assistance to Bert Nash. Commissioners discussed standard contract clauses and confirmed the MOU had been reviewed by legal counsel; Bert Nash’s board chair said the SS&C contract had already been executed on their side. The SS&C MOU passed 5–0.
Commissioners also completed a set of routine appointments (Grant Township seat to the Douglas County Fair Board; Palmyra Fire District reappointment) and closed the meeting.
