A later speaker who identified affiliations with the Board of Education, Somers Point Garden Club and the Somers Point Hockey Association said the governing body previously agreed to a $170,000 expenditure for replacement boards and decks at the hockey complex but that the arrangement had not been honored; the speaker said a meeting was scheduled Monday to try to resolve the matter and asked the council to 'make this wrong a right.' City staff acknowledged the meeting and said officials would attempt to address the concern.
Council took no immediate binding action during the public comment period beyond promising staff follow‑up and scheduling a staff meeting on the hockey issue.
