Crook County commissioners approved routine and substantive items during their Dec. 3 meeting, including plat acceptance for a local subdivision and two criminal-justice treatment court grant agreements.
Unidentified Speaker 1 moved to approve the consent agenda and the board adopted it by voice vote. Rob Robert of Development Solutions requested acceptance of the plat for the last remaining property in the Iron Horse subdivision—27 lots created after the city installed a new street and relocated a canal. Commissioners approved the plat for Iron Horse phases (1, 3 and 4); staff agreed to have the absent commissioner's signature added when that commissioner returns.
Unidentified Speaker 2 (Aaron Boyce, lieutenant, sheriff's office) asked the board to accept two Criminal Justice Commission treatment-court grant agreements—one for a drug court and one for a mental-health court—saying the county applied earlier in the year and was awarded both grants. Commissioner Unidentified Speaker 6 moved to approve the grant agreements (identified in the meeting as TCP-27-12 and TCP-27-13); Unidentified Speaker 1 seconded and the board approved the motion by voice vote.
Bill Van Vactor, county manager, also told the board Crook County's fiscal 2026 budget received the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) award for excellence in governmental budgeting and for long-range operating financial planning; he said a press release would follow.
The meeting ended after brief updates and a motion to adjourn passed by voice vote.
