During its meeting the Ephrata City Council completed votes on land-use and contract items and heard a first reading on an elected-official compensation waiver.

• Ordinance 25-12, the Chamberlain rear-easement vacation. Ron explained the request and noted a 100-foot easement for the PUD and major power lines remains in place; council moved, seconded and approved the easement vacation to adopt the ordinance.

• Resolution 25-85, legal services contract. Staff explained the change in contract entity tied to an attorney’s retirement; there is no change in compensation under the contract. Council moved and approved the resolution to accept the legal services contract.

• Ordinance 25-14, elected-official compensation waiver (first reading). Staff presented a form and process for an elected official to voluntarily waive compensation while noting constitutional limits on diminishing salary after election; council treated this as a first reading and did not advance it at this meeting.

Each action was moved and voted on during the meeting; where council proceeded to vote, the chair recorded affirmative voice votes.
