The board considered Action Item G to approve proposed additions to the district library catalog. The presenter explained that Senate Bill 13 changed the legal responsibility for library materials procurement to the board and described the review process: district librarians curated lists, the list was posted on the district website for the required 30‑day public comment period, the local school library advisory council (SLAC) reviewed feedback and the committee considered items flagged by AI tools.
The presenter said the SLAC met on Oct. 15 and Nov. 12 to review titles and community feedback. Trustees asked about removal procedures; staff confirmed the district’s existing online objection form will route requests to the SLAC for review and determination. After questions, the board moved, seconded and approved the proposed additions to the catalog; the president announced, "Motion carries 7 0."
