Key charter snapshots Graham cited include: - Ridgecrest Elementary Academy for Language, Music and Science: chronic absenteeism 24.5%, suspension 2.5%; ELA color yellow, math color orange; CAASPP ELA 53.2 (below standard), math 61.8 (below standard). - Wonderful College Prep Academy, Delano: chronic absenteeism orange; suspension red; graduation and college-and-career indicators strong (blue/green); ELA and math rated orange. - Lost Hills (Wonderful College Prep Academy Lost Hills): several indicators show no performance color because the campus lacks the minimum counts for a color (fewer than 30 graduates for grad/college-and-career reporting). - Grow Public School (first year operating as a countywide charter): only current-year data available; no performance colors shown. - Central Academy of Arts and Technology (CAT): first dashboard year with current-year data only—ELA reported 11 points above standard, math 37 points below standard, chronic absenteeism 25.8%, suspension 2.2%; the school reported strong reading outcomes and enrollment growth.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about county averages and how county snapshots are calculated; Graham explained county-level figures include all reporting districts and charters and that some student-group comparisons (LPAC/EL progress) were not reported because necessary data from districts were incomplete.
Why it matters: The dashboard data inform local-control-and-accountability-plan (LCAP) goals and charter renewal reviews; Graham also noted that the next charter renewal for a county-run charter (Wonderful College Prep Academy Delano) will be in 2027, so this report serves as an early progress indicator.
What happens next: Trustees received the report as an informational item; staff will supply the dashboard handout and follow up with detailed comparative data as needed.
