Planning commission starts revocation process for home-based horse boarding SUP missing compliance

Churchill County planning commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 10 to begin the revocation process for SUP1105, a special use permit granted Nov. 13, 2024 for a home-based horse boarding operation, after staff reported repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact the applicant.
Randy Hines, Public Works planning and building, said the county had attempted to reach the applicant multiple times but received no response. Commissioner Tammy Edgemond told the commission the operation had been observed running without a county business license and said the county had provided assistance during the SUP process but the applicant had failed to comply for over a year.
Commissioner Tim Aitchman moved that the director start the revocation process for failure to comply with conditions; the motion carried unanimously. Staff said the revocation would be pursued administratively and that any final action would include notice and an appeal path to the Board of County Commissioners.
