The Downingtown Area School District Board approved three action items during its regular session.
Finance: The board approved a proposed three-year agreement with Cardinal Point Security for general school security; the approval was noted as contingent on final contract review by the district solicitor (SEG 131-134). The motion was seconded and the board recorded the motion as carried.
Facilities: The board approved change order EC12 for Hobbs and Company, the electrical contractor on the Beaver Creek Elementary expansion project. The change order covers heat-trace and recirculation circuiting work needed to protect the HVAC system, as explained by Director Sturbridge (SEG 144-150). The motion carried.
Technology: The board moved to contract with Land Connect, the winning RFP bidder, to recable the internal fiber at DASD schools. Director Ross introduced the item and referenced the prior review at the last meeting (SEG 157-160).
Board members recorded voice votes approving the items. Where the record notes contingent approval (for the Cardinal Point contract), staff will complete solicitor review before the contract becomes final.
