Del City — As part of its Dec. 15 meeting the Del City City Council recognized the winners of its annual "Deck the Yard" holiday decorating contest.
Councilmembers announced winners by ward and invited recipients to the podium for photos and short remarks. Announced recipients included Leonard Moseley (3104 Lazy Lane) and Thomas Walker (4129 Southeast 43rd Street) in Ward 1, Adam Tate (4232 Clinton Way), Barbara and Terry Johnson (3700 Dale Road) in Ward 2, Michael Anton (4017 Southeast 25th Street) in Ward 3, Lloyd Selby in Ward 4 and Bank First (4200 South Sunny Lane Road) as business of the season. Council encouraged residents to drive the neighborhoods to view displays while the season lasts.
The awards segment included light remarks from winners and brief applause; the council emphasized community pride and participation in city events.
