Staff said the CRA previously paid approximately $122,000 for the project at a special called commission meeting and described two timeline options from consultant Dover Coal Professionals: a split format with listening sessions in December and a later multi‑day format, or a consolidated three‑day event in January. Consultants and staff recommended the three‑day option; staff said detailed plans, recommendations and finances would be produced in late January and February and a second community workshop would be scheduled in March.
Board members asked about schedule conflicts and which staff or elected officials would be needed during the sessions; staff said a schedule would be provided and that not all officials would need to attend every day. One board member asked when the charrettes would conclude; staff confirmed the final day would be Jan. 23.
The board moved to approve the timeline and the three‑day format; the motion passed 5–0. Staff will coordinate the charrette schedule with consultants and return with deliverables and community workshop dates.
