Emily Youngo, a candidate with about 10 years of court-administration experience in Georgia, was unanimously approved by a joint session of the House and Senate Judiciary committees to serve as clerk of the business court.

Introducing herself to the panel, Youngo said court administration is "really my bread and butter," described prior service supporting superior court judges and legislative matters, and said it would be an honor to work again with Judge Hamrick. Committee members who spoke in support cited their personal knowledge of Youngo's work and the "very high" quality of her performance.

A brief line of questioning included a light exchange about Youngo's resume and education; one committee member asked why she listed a degree from Auburn University, which Youngo answered by saying she was proud of her Auburn education and that it could be a positive for Judge Hamrick.
