Richland Middle College announced on Nov. 12 that it received an "excellent" school report card score of 93 out of 100 for the year, the schools fourth consecutive "excellent" rating, with a 100% graduation rate and 96.8% college-and-career readiness, Dr. Bradley told the board.
Dr. Bradley credited faculty, staff, community supporters and the schools partnership with Midlands Tech for the results. He said the school will celebrate the rating with students on Nov. 20, beginning about 12:30 p.m., and invited board members to attend. He also reviewed student activities: seniors had cap-and-gown ordering on Nov. 4, juniors had a ring presentation, and the school held a "refocused Friday" for students with grades of C or below to get extra help. A planned Claflin University college tour was postponed and will be rescheduled.
During follow-up comments, a board member suggested including Benedict College as a college-visit option and offered to help facilitate that connection. The administrator thanked the member and said the school appreciated the support. The board confirmed its next regular meeting is Dec. 10.
Next steps: school staff will send a calendar invitation for the Nov. 20 celebration and provide details to board members who wish to attend.
