Richland Middle College highlights student awards, open house and announces school resource officer

School leaders told the board Dec. 10 about recent student achievements and upcoming events and announced the assignment of a school resource officer.
Administration reported inducting roughly 45 students into the JAG (Jobs for America's Graduates) program and said about 15 FBLA members will be inducted Dec. 17 after regional qualifying competitions. Officials reminded the board that ELC testing would take place Dec. 11 and that the school is holding a prospective-student open house Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
A schoolwide day of service is planned for Dec. 13, when students and staff will participate in fundraising and Salvation Army collection activities. Administration also confirmed an early release on Dec. 19 and that the winter holiday will run Dec. 22 through Jan. 2, with students returning Jan. 5 for the start of quarter 3.
On safety staffing, the administration said Mister Raul Escadrach has been assigned as the school resource officer and that he is completing the state-required certification steps; the presenter said he is expected "to be officially in uniform the first of the year" and that he was appointed by the Milosek Police Department (as stated in the transcript).
Board members praised recent events and community engagement. The meeting concluded with holiday wishes and a reminder that the next board meeting is Jan. 14, 2026.
