Hempstead board adopts local laws tightening parking, standing and arterial stops across villages

A separate local law establishing arterial stop locations in Elmont, Levittown, near Valley Stream and West Hempstead also cleared the board in a vote during the meeting. The board likewise approved a handicap parking measure to create on‑street accessible parking in Merrick and Uniondale.
