Navigate reports Prop S spending: "just over 157,000,000" in completed work; district to decide remaining uses

Amy Miller, representing Navigate Building Solutions, updated the committee on the Prop S program and remaining decisions for final funds.
"All these projects total, just over 157,000,000," Miller said, and she broke the program into major scopes: HVAC upgrades (largest share), 571 whiteboards installed district-wide, 15 roofing replacements, 45 restroom renovations, and three auditorium renovations (Metro, Vashon and CBPA). Miller said many projects have moved through punch-list and finishing work and that the Gateway STEM renovation is the largest active construction project.
When asked whether tornado-related repairs would come from Prop S, Miller said, "It's my understanding that all of the tornado damage will be funded separately with an insurance claim. It won't be in the Prop S funding." Chief staff present agreed and clarified which items counted as safety and security improvements versus interior enhancements; examples cited included exterior window film, exterior doors, fencing, lighting and fire alarm work.
Navigate committed to provide a precise tally of schools served and additional follow-up information requested by committee members. The committee did not make new funding decisions at the session; staff will return with requested clarifications at a future meeting.
