"Our bid date is tomorrow, at 2PM," the speaker said, and staff reported they were already receiving bids. Board members and staff said they intend to review low qualified bidders carefully: the procurement team will "descope" top candidates and ask engineers and contractors to confirm that the lowest qualified bidders meet the full scope so the district avoids later change orders.
Staff said the district hopes to expedite a contract approval and has scheduled a special board meeting for Dec. 1 if bids come back inside budget.
