During the Dec. 18 meeting, the Dickson County School Board recognized staff and student accomplishments across the district.
Board members and administrators recognized Centennial and Stuart Burns elementary schools as reward schools and presented certificates. The board singled out bus driver Jeff Hall and staff including Tammy Lindsay and others for their quick response in an incident that involved 38 children on a bus; multiple board members praised the training that prepared staff to respond.
Mary Morrow, director of the district nursing program, described Project ADAM and the importance of drills and preparedness in school settings. The board also recognized student achievements: the Dixon County Lady Cougars bowling team’s district results, the Dixon County High School marching band’s performance at the 2025 Choctaw Classic under director Michael Nelson, and numerous individual placements in speech and health sciences competitions.
Board members closed with holiday wishes to staff and families and encouragement for school communities to stay safe over the break.
