The HTC approved design revisions for the 8 Mass Ave submission, accepting a return to the prior roofline, removal of a visible pent roof element, white trim and shutters, and natural‑weather vertical‑board garage doors, with a small panel below the 9‑light pedestrian door to be confirmed as Exhibit A through staff.
Applicant Tori (Tory) explained the changes were intended to bring the new work into closer alignment with a nearby main house and earlier comments from commissioners. Angus McLeod and other commissioners said the restored roofline and arched garage‑door reference were improvements; Commissioners asked for confirmation of door detail and agreed the shutters and trim should remain white to match the house. The commission approved the project with the condition that final door details be provided as an Exhibit A that staff may confirm.
The applicant agreed to provide closer photographs and a detailed Exhibit A for staff review as part of the approval.
