On Nov. 17 Greene County’s finance committee discussed a bundled agenda item that combined EMS reimbursements, contract payments to towns, and a bookkeeping journal entry for the Mountaintop Historical Society.
Committee members argued the items are distinct and should be considered separately. They moved to split the single resolution into three separate resolutions (labeled a, b and c): (a) EMS payments and town EMS-related contracts, (b) town contract payments and related fund transfers, and (c) a journal-entry correction to move a previously charged amount into the proper account for Mountaintop Historical Society funds. The committee set roll-call voting for each split item.
Roll-call tallies were recorded in the transcript: legislators and the chair answered individually and votes were recorded as 'Aye' or 'Yes' for each split measure; clerk totals were reported in open session. The committee also agreed that the three separate resolutions would be finalized and added to the Wednesday meeting agenda.
Members said the split clarifies accounting and avoids conflating operating payments with accounting corrections. The committee directed staff to prepare the standalone resolutions and to conduct the roll-call votes as recorded.
